RinkRat Magazine uses FightTracker Software to rank the Top 10 pugilists in the Ontario Hockey League.
Fighters are selected from a number of categories including balance, handspeed, & strength. They are then ranked by the software on the basis of wins, losses, & draws - in relation to the skill level of the opponent.
In addition, goaltenders that fight get an automatic berth into the Top 10 for that month.

RANKING NOTES: The 2001-02 season crowned an undisputed champion in Oshawa's Sean McMorrow. McMorrow was so dominant that RinkRat didn't even bother with the ranking. We know McMorrow isn't returning this year, but we have to live the dream.

The names are listed alphabetically to start the season and these are the kids that we believe should make some noise this season. Over all this is another very weak year for pugs in the O, but there are a few guys to keep an eye on...

Steve Phillips could be the best fighter this league has seen in a long time - he's a rook - but he has already tuned a few in the pre-season. Josh Gratton and Jake Gilmour...we really like these two and it could be a toss up between them for top spot. Mike Amodeo starts the season with 24 games remaining on a suspension from last year, so whether he sticks around remains to be seen. Bryan Hamm had a rather mediocre rookie season but we're going to give him the benefit of the doubt. Cam Janssen how this kid was drafted is a bigger mystery than how they make Caramilk. Tyler Hanchuck's a vet who is pretty smart when it comes to picking his spots, which should give him a decent fight card. Last season was good for Zac Stortini this season should be even better. Word on the street is that Stortini worked out over the summer with sick tuff legend Troy Crowder.

Here are the 12 players that RinkRat Magazine believes will fight for the 10 available BeatDown spots.

From this list only one will be crowned champion:

October

- Mike Amodeo ~ Kitchener

- Chris Bain ~ London

- Ben Eager ~ Oshawa

- Jake Gilmour ~ Belleville

- Josh Gratton ~ Kingston

- Bryan Hamm ~ Peterborough

- Tyler Hanchuck ~ Sarnia

- Cam Janssen ~ Windsor

- Sean McMorrow ~ Oshawa

- Alan Nolan ~ St.Mike's

- Steve Phillips ~ Plymouth

- Zack Stortini ~ Sudbury

The first goaltender to hold a ranking better than 10 in the BDT10 was the Generals Tyrone Garner. He didn't stop fighting once he left the O though. Here's the proof:

RinkRat Magazine prompted three bouts during the 2000-01 season between heavyweights Brett Clouthier and Sean McMorrow. Check out these beauties and their undercards:
